You're in lectures with exactly the same people every day. Just sit next to a random lonely-looking person and say hi, or else strike up a conversation in a tutorial. UTS communications students have the friend-making thing so easy compared to courses where there's lecture halls full of 600...

But I seriously don't recommend it on a full stomach. It very nearly ended messily:p

I don't know what subjects you were looking at, but my subjects for this semester are $600-ish each, arts subjects are generally in the lowest fee band...And as a non-SI student, please don't be knocking my degree too harshly, only I who have done the subjects may mock their apparent irrelevance:)

Sorta, but sitting in a big circle and asking questions of an unwilling group is less fun than poking yourself in the eye with a rusty nail. Try splitting the group up, at least to start with, and then have each group report back. Only dealing with half a class could be better than leading...

The only exception to this rule that I know of is Sue Burgess, who I know to have failed at least one group in first semester last year, and she came perilously close to failing mine. And she gave no feedback on assignments either, just crappy marks. Not that I'm bitter:p But yeah, well said...
