    There were two wires? :(

    Triple Whammie!

Yerp, thats what I have. It isn't so bad though. Phys compliments engo a bit, well it helped me in the test today.

    27 Wtf

Ah well. Another mark gone. Whether they wanted it to or not, year 11 work would have effected people. Why put the resistor there? Meh

    17 b

GPE = -(Gm1m2)/r I used. Then just said it curved like that as GPE (is proportional to) 1/r . Hard to explain in words.

    the satelite Q?

I was not confident with this question... I remembered using equations in class that had the momentum of the rocket and gases. How does the burning of fuel come into it?

    Q2Q - Mass Defect

Yes, it was weird. Electrons can be disregarded when you are calculating the binding energy of the nucleus, and when doing calculations on the mass difference in transmutations. I would like to know whether electrons are included in the periodic table to give the 12 amus for carbon. Meh. I...

    27 Wtf

Yeh, i used that. But using the values off a line of best fit is more accurate than simply using one of the values from the table. Which is the point of lines of best fit.

    27 Wtf

Yeh two marks for plotting the points and drawing the line. How else would you calculate the resistance properly?

Section I: Part B - Short Answer Responses

Ah, dam. You have the paper infront of you huh. Well 1 mark. Edit: Actually above it i wrote T1:T2 then below 1:8 . So I should get the marks, hopefully.

Section I: Part B - Short Answer Responses

It asked for the comparison between the orbital periods of the original orbit to the new orbit. At the top it said that it moved from orbital 1 to orbital 2. Therefore it was 1:8. So yeh you are right.

    CONFIRMED mc answers!

Part of the debate was that they did turn a padel wheel, and also were deflected by a magentic field. This was the first set of evidence that was argued over. Several other experiments added more support to the particle theory, a major one was that they werent deflected by electric field...

    Multi choice Q15

My knowledge is pretty hazy on this but I think the Doppler effect is incorporated into the Lorentz equations. Lorentz equations were orginally made to compare frames of reference that were travelling at different speeds I think? The Doppler effect was part of this. Then Einstein sorta found...

    Q2q

I did Rutherford and de Broglie. I sorta incorporated the move from Dalton to Rutherford even though it isnt really in the course. Then connected that to Bohr and went in depth for de Broglie and its implications and connection to heaps of stuff. Hopefully i dont get marks for not really doing...

    CONFIRMED mc answers!

Only when a potential difference stops being applied. Tricky question that one, I forget which way the current flowed, lucky another part of the paper told me :D.
  15. K

    Section I: Part A - Multiple Choice

I think Lorentz equations were derived from the way different frames of reference view each other, so the Doppler effect is incorporated into the equation. So C must be the answer. Oh no, not reading the questions sucks.

    CONFIRMED mc answers!

There are two sources of conduction in semiconductors, holes and electrons. Semiconductors normally have a full valence band, but when a potential difference is applied they jump up, into the conduction band. Leaving behind as many holes as there are electrons that jump up. Both holes and...

    CONFIRMED mc answers!

4 is a, as height was measured and the time to fall taken. Thus time is dependent on height. Also 15 is B as holes are in the valence band and are the primary source of conduction in p-type semiconductors. Teachers arn't infallible.

    27 Wtf

questions 27 was the last question in section 1. It talked about how two students had tried to determine which of two wires was pure chromium and which one was chromium alloyed with nickel. We were given a table of values comparing the amps with voltage supplied with the currents the flowed...

Section I: Part B - Short Answer Responses

screwed up the voltage, used cm for some reason. LOL. What do you guys think the physical reason behind the outlier was? I put that the ammeter didnt go past 2.5. Couldn't think of anything else.
  20. K

    Section I: Part A - Multiple Choice

The 40 degrees was not a part of the answer, as the field was directed straight down and the path of the electron was perpendicular to it regardless. Pretty sure that that 15 is B. Holes are in the valence band. 5 is strange. I don't really know how the Doppler effect would be incorporated...
