Re: Law at UWS
heh, melsc, hopefully you'll have better luck than me! ;)
damn it, i knew i transferred to the wrong uni!
they should have this info in the prospectus! Maybe one of us should write "The Good Guide To Guys in Uni" :D
If you're doing something like Arts/Law, since the Law is the 'bigger' degree, they take the transfer as a law one so it becomes the 50% UAI and 50% GPA. If they're just doing a journo/law transfer to b arts transfers, since the arts faculty is handling the transfer, it becomes the 80/20 ration...
What course from UNSW to USyd? It's no harder than it would be, transferring from any other uni to Usyd...
What do you mean? to transfer after 1st year? You follow the UAC process, its outlined on one of the stickies.
rare that you would need a high distinction average - not that many students get HD averages in first year! the average will depend on the course you want to transfer into and your UAI - so if you did badly in the HSC, a HD average will fantastically help your chances of getting a transfer into...
Becoming disheartened with the corporate legal scene already Frigid? haha....and only halfway through the law degree....
But seriously, would the AG, when looking to assess a High Court judge when they're like 60, go "hmmm....you went to (not-USYD)- sorry, we can't give you this role". Uni...
I made the mistake of reading A&D right after DvC, so I saw the twist coming up and predicted it from about a third of the way in...which was kinda disappointing. Works well as a quick and easy read though, and those two are so much better than his earlier books (Digital Fortress & didn't even...
Just finished Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami. I'm not completely sure what I think of it, its good in that its one of the books that requires another read cos of the mounds of metaphors and symbolism embedded in the story. I definitely like the writing style though (even though its...
I did the USyd-UTS-UNSW circuit last year myself- I started at 8.30 at Usyd (for that silly breakfast thing, which i came too late for), moved to UTS around 10.30-11, went to UNSW by 12.30ish and finished up by 3.00-3.30 at UTS again. Its not hard, and you don't really need to attend lectures...
Yeah, I agree...the reason why Sydney U even has such a wide and successful alumni in the first place is because its old-ness (hence the proliferation of Hogwarts'-like buildings) No one else can compete cos they weren't even around when Sydney Uni was established!
it depends what you value...
Hurrah for results finally coming out....after everyone else, including the year 12s ... :)
3 distinctions & 1credit. :D
How can business be taught by hippies? lol.
most of my subjects were vague this year also...including the law subjects! grrr introductory law!
