    History EXT

Modern, ahh the old days of year 11 Modern history. I am the freak in school that does Ancient, Modern and Extension. In my opinion, Ancient is WAAAAAY better than Modern, but that's just me.

    Trials and their relevance

My trials weren't too good, either. I absolutely bummed out in 2 unit Maths, and in Advanced English I barely scraped a pass. In my other subjects I have gotten a 75% average, which I think is kinda hopeless. I plan on working hard on my hsc and getting at least a band 5 for all my subjects...

    History EXT

With the major project, you simply do whatever the hell you want. Write 2500 words on a subject, include a synopsis, an examination of 3 sources you used and a bibliography and you got yourself the major project. This major project is the only non-exam assessment task you get and from my...

    HELP!!! History project!!

Don't abuse them, but you have to use them. It helps keeping your essay within the word limit. A good guide would be 3 or 4 footnotes a page, I think. It depends on how much writing you have on the page. As long as your footnotes are relevant, however, then your teacher can't really criticize you...

    History EXT

The Good Points Interesting areas of study (I am sick to death of doing world war 1) The exams are predictable. As long as you know your historiography, and two areas of debate in your area of study, you're all set. The Bad Stuff: Too much emphasis on historians Can get boring at...

    Trial Marks>>

Neither have I...and I was thinking that since it's only a 2 hour exam, and there are only 6 people in my class that my teacher so sure taking her time to mark our exams...

    Which OS do you use?

I use Windows XP Proffessional at home. Good thing I managed to patch my computer before that damn Blaster Worm hit my computer...At school our computers have Mac OSX. They're pretty easy to use, but I'm more accustomed to my Windows XP.

    HELP!!! History project!!

Let me see...the State Library in St James (Sydney) has just about everything. Try that out. Oh, and if you want a good project, you gotta footnote like hell. That's what my Extension History teacher said. My 3000 word project (not including synopsis or bibliography) has 26 footnotes in it.

Are u going 2 skool regularly after trials??

Yeah, I still go to school everyday. But then again, I have a perfect record. From Year 7-12, I have had no absences or late notes. I'm such a good little boy...

So, how was the Ancient trial?

Don't worry. You can make up your marks in the proper HSC exam. Just look at what you did wrong, and improve from there.

    the HTA prize thing

With the HTA prize, our teacher is sending our entire class' major projects in, regardless of mark. But then again, there's only 6 people in our extension history class...

    How high are you aiming?

I want at least an 80 UAI, but I'll be really happy if I get 90 or above. Slim chance of that happening though.

Is there other people like me?

I think many of the modules of English are kind of messed up. I mean, speeches is good when you are doing an assessment task on them but an exam is a whole new ball game. I had to remember all the speeches in my damn booklet because our teacher hinted that one of them would be featured in the...

    anyone done the Catholic trials??

I did my CSSA Extension History trials yesterday, and I suppose I didn't too bad. I did 3 pages for each of the two questions (but my handwriting is tiny so it's all good). The historiagraphy question was ok, but the sources they provided were crap. And the area of study was easy enough (our...

So, how was the Ancient trial?

I loved my Ancient exam, it was pretty easy. I think I didn't do too good on one question though (the water systems question worth 5 marks, in Society: Rome from Augustus to Titus). I did the CSSA trial, my sections were: 1) Personality: Alexander the Great 2) Society: Rome from Augustus to...
