Timing and spending ALOT of time after the past exams and marking them, and reading step-by-step is the way to go. If you already have over 10 units, if Maths is pulling you down, consider dropping it. It is deadweight if you do not like the subject and also get bad marks.

Technically if you do well in your HSC (The real thing at the end of year of BoS), it should raise your mark a little higher. You still have a chance at increasing the rank by your upcoming trials. Do well in those, do well in HSC, you'll get Band 5-6.
