Since you are doing a commerce degree, in order to make it into a graduate program you are required to get AT LEAST credit average overall, so if you failed 3 - its not the end of the world, but i would suggest you put A LOT of work in order to get a GPA of at least 5 overall.
Do you enjoy...
UTS also doesn't have no where as near as much research as the unis that got in the list; which the list was compiled on research rankings.
No offense to James Cook Uni, but it is in the list for Top 500, I can see many unis 'better' than that such as UTS. I think the fact that JCU is a lot...
Ranking are always rubbish. They are biased. These ranking were mostly based on research, so for an undergraduate degree - is mostly irrelevant.
Best advise on quality of course will be to use common sense. Ask people about course, check uni websites etc etc
Down here in Canberra, ANU got their results 1st Dec and we got our 4th of December...
I spose in sydney there are more people, thus more papers to mark!
In regards to public transport, i have never used it to be honest - i drive everywhere cause it is so quick - the roads are so good compared to sydney..
There are buses (action i think they r called), and they come all day, every day, till early hours of the morning.. The one disadvantage...
Hey,
Yep, only 10K kids - although go on a friday afternoon and it looks like 100 kids ahhaha
UC is in Bruce, next to Australian Inst. of Sport. UC is about a 8 min drive from the city.. Canberra roads are really efficient; I live in Florey (which is on one side of canberra) and can get...
ANU is a good option for law.. My sisters friend is in her last year there. She done an Arts degree and got credit average and transferred into law. Prehaps you could do that..
ANU law faculty is small , which can be good as more contact with lecturer.. I dont know too much about law @...
After looking @ my friends ANU macroeconomics just then ; it is VERY different to what I learnt. I guess @ the end of the day you learn the same stuff; but if u r transferring from usyd to uc/anu you may find it harder to go into 2nd yr economics, as you have done econ from another uni...
Hey
I do the commerce one - its fine. There isnt that much maths in it; it is just that the content is more of an analytical nature and suited more towards 'maths' type people than the arts type. Doing USyd economics, I am not sure if you will be disadvantaged/advantaged etc. You might...
Also you will notice in year 2; I am not sure if you do 4 courses at USyd, but in Year 2 and 3 we only do 3 courses a semester as the courses are worth 4 credit points - higher value..
I think they are changing it in 2005 - but u wont be effected though....
Any ?'s about ANU - Ask me - i...
Hey,
Ok... When I said more practical - the course is more orientated towards 'real life' situations. They use PBL - problem based learning which is what most unis use for medicine - you learn by problems etc - it is really good; but you definately need an analytical background.
UC Have 2...
Read from other post u r transfering from USYD
Umm. To answer u question, it is so hard 2 compare the 2 unis. I live with a girl from Shanghai who goes to ANU who does the same course as me , but at the ANU and is in 1st yr like me.
Both unis offer high quality courses etc. It depends...
Stress - Was less than HSC - maybe because no one cares about u marks etc.
Work wise - I guess everyone is different. Not doing economics in the HSC (school didn't offer it); I found uni requiring more work - but because I dont have 2 do subjects like english - i "enjoy" it more...
When I do a course transfer, I will get my offer ( i hope) via the early round... UAC already have my UAI, sem 1 and now sem 2 results...
Also a lot of tafe students, private college students get offers in this round..
I wouldn't worry about it - most students get offers in the main...
