Approximately 10% of UTS is from Tafe. (Stats from DEST). Generally most unis will have a 'college' etc for disadvantaged students. A lot of unis have articulation agreements with local unis. I know in Canberra ANU and UC both have agreements with CIT (Tafe).

I was a school captain last year . I didn't get any extra UAI points . BUT it does help for things like scholarships etc. A major influence in getting a cadetship was the captain job on the SRC

What is this "general education" subject?? At UC in SOME single degrees you have to pick some subjects that are totally irrelevant to your degree. Its like 1 or 2 subjects from unrelated fields like nursing, law, business etc.. It can't have nothing to do with your degree or your major...
