I think Williamson is liberal-humanist inclined. In the intro, it says he does believe some of swain's ideas have value, but he still satirises him, making him villlian. so i guess one may assume that he's liberal humanist. yeah
although I can hardly believe angela somehow gets brainwashed by...
only a specified group of people would know what i'm referring to, and funny i put it under Maths ext 2.
Anyway, if you've been in the past, was it worth the time, money and energy? I mean it's in year 12 when the time is pretty precious and it's not totally cheap, not to mention travel...
likewise, although inner journeys people are far better off than imaginary. To define the imaginary journey, it's either everything or nothing! apart from Coleridge poems, which are pretty specifically imaginary, there really is little in the way of related material. even bos stimulus texts are...
yap, you guys are soo right. by the look of it, french is not just boring for me. I'm somehow contemplating dropping it for yr 12, don't know if it's worth it though.
It sounds all good and everything. But is it actually better to choose popular/classical texts that everyone knows? That means there's no chance of any texts that we might personally like.
How do you find grammar? have you done passe compose? imparitif, futur proche etc. I think french is mainly labeled 'academic' because of its grammar component. and our school is somewhat lame at it.
did you know that the french continuers course is also the course studied by full-fee paying...
Anyone got any ideas of texts that would work well as related material for journeys? I do Imaginative but because the 3 types overlap sooo much, texts for physical and inner journeys will no doubt be of use too.
Any chemistry and/or physics students with any thoughts on the HSC syllabus is welcome to type away. What option is your school doing? How do you perceive the HSC course to be in terms of difficulty and topics in relation to the preliminary?
we use ca y'est. It's sooooooo boring, french that is. I like the language but we do nooothing in class. Are you studying it for HSC? I find listening difficult, the rest are easy although for speaking I prepare my responses in advance (the teacher pretty much gives it all away). I like the...
Just wondering what textbooks your schools use for the Preliminary and HSC courses. We changed text books too many times for my liking. Does French challenge you or is it a bore?
Parlez-moi, qu'est-que t'en pense!
A bientot.
Anyone doing Imaginative Journeys might be interested in networking to exchange notes, ideas, (complaints), etc. This would be helpful particularly if we happen to be studying the same prescribed text too. If interested, add a thread or email me privately and leave your email, I'll get back to...
for eng ext, you do one elective from one module. That includes 3 prescribed texts and material of your own choosing. we have about 3-5 assessments for the whole year.
