Q13 was the last question i did in the paper cause I thought it was pretty confusing. :p It was a toss up between (a) and (d) and I guessed (a). :( The third diagram put me off when it said no reaction. I guess I forgot all that displacement stuff :(
8 pages for the Industrial Chem option. I think 2 and a bit pages for the 5 mark soap question and around 3 pages for the last question worth 6 marks. The rest well took up the rest.
Man that takes some absorbing.
I can assume only a minority of people will see this difference and thus attain full marks. They are words that can be hard to tell the difference from at first glance.
I wrote stuff how you need good quality filter paper to make sure all of BaSO4 is caught in the filter paper cause the BaSO4 is a fine ppt and not getting all of the ppt could effect the overall calculation % composition of Sulfate in fertiliser.
I also talked about how long the filter paper...
Yeah news on u/e just in.
I heard on the radio that John Howard anounced the U/E rate at 5.6% I'm not sure but from the top of my head I think it's a record 22 year low.
19,000 full time jobs were created (i'm not sure on the time frame these jobs were created but that's what I recall...
Hey John, your summary really really helped me out in the exam. I don't know if I would have gone as good as I think I did in the Industrial Chem option without your awesome Industrial Chem summary.
Thanks again man. :)
800 for the equillibrium constant. Most people seem to have got that so it's safe to say it was the right answer. How much was that worth?? I forgot my paper at school.
Yeah I chose the same processes for the base and acid respectively. There was plenty to talk about environmental wise, with the dispsoal of things like SO2 an acidic oxide into the atmosphere, CaCl2 waste in the solvay process etc etc.
What did you think overall.
I thought it was pretty much on par with 2001 and 2002. There was a little bit of everything from the option which was good cause I made sure I learnt everything in the option equally.
800
I don't have the paper with me so I forget the concentrations of the reactants and products initially and at equilibrium but I drew that table:
initial
change
equilibrium
and filled in the required details of the products and reactants.
Pretty sure it came out to 800 which...
Pretty stright forward I thought. If you knew your dot points you were set to kill it.
Personally I thought I killed it. If I gave myself a raw estimate I'd say 90. Not sure if it will get me in a band 6 because I have a shit rank but lets see what happens.
Overall a very good paper for...
