She must have meant it was not really arts because I haven't yet met a single person or talked to a single person who says it isn't journalism. Apparently, it is fullon right from day one and they tell you you have to think like a journalist from the very beginning. Sounds scary but good scary.
I love the fact that you quote politics all around the forums and yet this amazing piece of censorship by the state government doesn't shit you to tears. All of us should be able to know where students get good UAIs. Instead we just get this crap "all-rounders" list which doesn't mean a pinch of...
I'm thinking UTS because I hear that the journalism is the best and they do all the work experience with the ABC being next door and all. I went to a journalism workshop at PLC earlier this year and this woman's daughter was at usyd and trying to transfer out because it wasn't really about...
I'm just trying to decide whether or not to take a gap year before university and was wondering if I could get the opinions of those who have done it or are considering doing it, whether they recomend taking a gap year and what kind of things they did during that year, e.g. went overseas...
As with all courses, the actual UAIs which people have to get in to courses are quite different to listed cutoffs. I'm sure you know people who are enrolled at Sydney doing law with UAIs of less than the quoted cutoff off 99.6.
Since I saw her UAI myself; and I can read the offers in the...
I disagree. You need to see how many students. The SMH way, it looks like many students scored distinctions when we know it couldn't be true. I think my model shows depth. Your "worked solution" shows why my idea would give a real indication of what the school did. The other way is misleading...
Maybe I don't get it but as far as I can tell, they tell you how many candidates in total and then they list distinctions. What they should say is 168 candidates, then how many of those had distinctions. So, say you had 168 candidates but only 30 of those were awarded distinctions. In English...
i no i'm gonna sound like a stats nerd but these lists are not really good because they don't sort out how many students actually got those distinctions ie one school could have lots of students who get over 90 in english advanced, ext 2 and ext 2. i bet that's what happens at james ruse. what...
Can we tell how many people sat for maths; and then how many of those scored over 90? I would like to know the same for English. Cos some of these schools have students doing two, three, four units of English, so it kinda bumps up their overall figures.
