Oh good. I've always thought we are getting a little old to be saying "so mr scientist is really good and good impact because he gives electricity to all the mummies and daddies so that us kids can get our sesame street on TV." 5/5
Re: So Soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So how many state rankings are there on Wednesday arvo? Top 10 for each subject? Do those people (state ranking) that don't come first also get awards?
WTF? Why can't you tell people? So the situation is like this:
Mum: Phone rang, it's for you.
Student: Hello
BOS Guy: I must be fast. This line may be tapped.
Student: Who is this?
BOS Guy: You are first in the state for community and family studies. While this award is nothing prestigious, as...
Are clerical errors likely though? I thought all papers were double-marked, or at least double-tallied for the maths/science ones if they don't require double marking. And surely if they calculated someone's assessment mark as 98 and their exam mark as ridiculously lower, say 3, then they would...
Yeah, well the acceleration thing was a sort of trial. It means that this year, the best maths students have already done their HSC last year so there probably won't be any band 6s (maybe 1 or 2).
Usually my school has about 10-15 band 6s for maths and 0-3 for English because the faculty is lazy...
My school is ranked about 200th and last year most of the maths accelerants (including myself) and what were the *real* year 12s achieved a total of 23 band sixes (about 60 did maths). If a public school can have a third of the students get band 6, then a selective school should be able to.
Not really. I know of some 2006 *trial* marks, which were comparable standard to the real HSC. 50s went to high 70s. Of course it's hard to tell how much of that was improvement and how much was aligning.
At this point it's basically the waiting game. :)
I don't. I was never talking about scaling.
The comments about aligning were purely speculation, but it's common sense that there will be less upward alignment at the high end as that's where the competition is.
Well, obviously not every mark can go up by the same amount. I'm only guessing, but anything over 95 is probably absolute, unless no one gets 100 raw, then 99 might go to 100 and everything else up slightly more.
