Re: Post your Semester 2 timetable
Will need to fiddle around with it. The biochem labs are a bit wonky...I might need to change the labs to Wednesday and Thursday.
Re: Official Semester 1 Exams Thread
Studied for BCHM3971 and a bit of CHEM3912. Having a break now, but will be getting back to studying soon. :(
Oh, and where the fuck is Quad McRae Room S418? I always seem to have really odd rooms. =/
Re: Official Semester 1 Exams Thread
Have a lab report due tomorrow and have to go to uni on Wednesday morning to do an interview for it *shudder*.
I have started studying. Biochemistry seems okay, but chemistry on hte other hand...
I decide what is necessary and what isn't.
I will allow students to post things up like this just for fun. Unless it is a spamfest, which clearly it isn't, it will not be deleted.
That's why Board of Studies uses ranks rather than marks; simply to be fair. Some schools either mark hard (and it looks like it in your case since you attend a selective school) or mark too easy.
Obviously your school must be marking hard if you are coming first with that average (and I think selective schools tend to mark harder). If you are topping both advanced and extension, you should also do 4 unit. It'll probably be easier for you to do 4 unit rather than picking up ancient...
Re: when is USyd's open day?
I think they have lectures for different courses, but not for every course. When I went, they had a lecture for advanced science.
Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread!
Lol. I better get top marks for my lab books. 2% ftw!
Biochemistry is cool because with many of the lab reports, it's pass/fail. So you are pretty much guaranted a full 4% for it.
Anyway:
Got a high distinction for my scientific report for BCHM3971...
I also have this problem. I'll eat dinner, and about 1/2 hour later, I'm hungry. I've been the same weight for about 4 years now.
I guess as you get older, it will begin to slow down.
Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread!
This semester is shithouse. But every first semester is shit. Too many hours, too many assignments, too many labs, too many oral presentations (all up, I will have done 5 oral examinations to the academics and two oral presentations) and not enough time. I...
mRNA is a form of RNA (there is also rRNA and tRNA). Essentially, it is used as a blueprint for protein synthesis.
DNA --> mRNA --> PROTEIN
RNA polymerase is responsible for the copying of DNA to form the complementary mRNA strand (this is known as transcription) needed for protein synthesis...
Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread!
Yeah, I heard it too. I was walking on the footbridge, and I just heard this smash- no breaks or anything. :(
I thought it hit someone. It was quite scary. I hope she's ok. :(
I think it depends on what antiseptic wipes they are. It doesn't mean that they actually have a pH of 5.4-5.6. One brand might be 5.4, while another might be 5.5, etc. That's what I think anyway.
