I used to play, but that.... was a long time ago, Empire, Imp Guard and Imperial Fists. I then turned my attention to 1/72 Scale WWII Wargaming, then 1/6 scale WWII modeling. I now do 1/1 scale WWII reenacting....... it rules.
And in comparison to other hobbies, Warhammer is NOT expensive. My uniform and gear cost around $1200, and is not yet complete. I still have to buy a weapon and blanks cost around a Dollar a round.
I get kitted up in a WWII uniform, gear, boots and helmet. In my case, US Paratrooper gear (watch Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan). We do displays and have training events. Occasionally we have a dedicated tactical, when the Allies (Brits, Aussies, Poles and Russkies) face off against German reenactors (mostly SS) for a full scale battle. Rifles firing blanks, grenades going off and rain.... dammed cool experience.
Yeah, I went to buy Brothers in Arms in full uniform, stupid EB staff had NFI. As a game it wasn't bad, fairly authentic. To be honest.... I hate everything that involves the 101st AB.
Aye, thats the score. I went to buy Brothers in Arms in my M1942 Coat, Parachute Jumper and Trouser, Parachute Jumper. Plus highly polished russet brown Corcoran Jump Boots and a US EM's Overseas Cap with blue infantry piping and Parachute Badge. I have a few images of it, i'll get them hosted and post them soon.
