yeh.. ur forgetting something
when u dial up.. it means ur phone calls.. which costs 25c per call
i remember when i had dialup id always get disconnected.. and sometimes it would connect but disconnect right away and id have to try again
also during busy times the phone can be engaged and u have to try again
it was probably around $25 in calls per month (averaging out holidays and normal school days/weekends) and then u gotta pay like $30 for the actual internet.. which comes to $55 a month..
now is there really a point in paying $55 for slow unreliable service.. when i can get my lite plan on optus for the same price..
also for big downloads.. using dial up if u get disconnected during it u gotta start again.. this killed me for a 30mb file it took like 6 attempts to get it..

all the problems you listed there can be overcomed easily if you are a experienced computer user and know your stuff. i can't be bothered to list them since you are already with optus cable.

hey thats why you get 2 phone lines... it costs $25 with the free calls and stuff... then you share the dialup with a friend for free. if you log on heaps of times it'll be just 5 bucks extra max everymonth. and there are heaps of resume programs, all works fine for me.

but some people like you proly couldn't be bothered to save the 20 bucks everymonth... but what i don't get is why not just pay the extra 15 bucks and live free of download limits. unless you like me who goes over 12 gig with ease... ahahaha

edit: i just realised something this board is for the 1337 only... it says under name. so it is exclusive

nah. with dialup you can have as many users online at one time as you like for most service providers anyway. but when the time spend online is more than the time that exists in 1 month... then they warn you. if it still happens they cancel the account. thats what happened to my friend's account cause i used it too much... but he just registered again under a different name.

i download musics... movies... games... and something else.

dialup... use a 2nd fone line... and get a ISP who offers a no session limit plan. ^_^
