I'm just struggling to remember everything in fine detail like for example; in Sports Medicine I can remember the demands for specific athletes but I doubt I'll remember everything in fine detail by the time I finish revising the course.

I think the PDHPE course is fairly easy even though there's a lot of info, but i've found that people who find it really difficult understand better when they do pracs. Example: next week i'm 'tutoring' a couple of my friends that don't get the subject at all but i'll turn it all into a massive prac session because we never did pracs at school and its easier to learn- as long as u get the basic idea then winging is cinch.
Also ive found people can learn through the whole acrostic thing. Like-
The four types of strength: RAPE
R- elative strength
A- bsolute strength
P- ower
E- ndurance

the post jus on top of mine is very good... you really have ot know your syllabus from back to front... and relevant examples... not just "bus-stop" examples that ppl from a "bus-stop" that dont even do pd can give, but realli comprehensive and effective examples...
my teacher has stressed to us that we know the content, exmaples etc.. but really its how u answer the question... he's noticed that with pd you really have to answer the question... for ecample for our trials, he asked a critically evaluate question, although most answers filled the required 2 pages... they only described or explained what was meant to be done... but if you know your terms, its more so "making a valued judgement" so saying this is effective or ineffective is seen as evaluating... what i did is i thought of how i answer questions in legal studies and adopted that style into pd... pd is my weakest subect and legal my strongest... so to adopt that evaluating skill into pd jus made it easier for me... but yeh im not saying its similar at all.. lolz know your syllabus, know your content.. then look into the verbs and do a couple of practice questions...

eg look at epidemiology,
cover it at you should remember that it is the study of health and illness within populations.
the more you test yourself, you will realise that you actually DO remember quite a lot!

I personally swap the g and a so that it's doorags.
Anyway, I just study the chapter summaries in my text book, I read over them 3 times, if I'm done, I look up anything I'm not clear one.

Ooooh thanks for those! I am struggling to study for PD as well. I don't think it helps that we had a great teacher. We spent more time off track than actually ON the course. So I'm really worried how tomorrow afternoon is gonna go.ally147 said:

for those struggling with core 1...ottawa charter is a BIG concept and can be adopted into alot of areas...

... yea i am also finding it very hard to study for pdh/pe at the moment because there is lots of work to cover and for the hsc almsot everything gets covered in one question, so you have to like know basically everything in the book back to front. for me i do not like english and its kinda hard to understand it.
