Can u say that scientific progress in BNW is stagnant and that the society is going nowhere? Thats the impression i got from the book....

The way that savage die suggests the civilisation is hopeless. But there ARE hope left in that: in the world that Benard? (can't remember) is sent to in the end, they are allowed to develope humanity and its where they can progress and develop REALl science.
