does that mean we only register for the practical and tutorial combined, or a separate practical and separate tutorial?

if things are grouped together, you always have to register for them as a group.

If you have to register for them separately, you'll be able to and there'll usually be a note from the unit coordinator above the timetable for the unit on pweb saying that you can register for different ones.
