Gosh, well, if they let me I wouldn't mind doing 2 of yours on top of the 7 of mine? THAT'S ALMOST TEN.

You're nuts. Take your time and enjoy your years at uni. Cram so many subjects into a 2 year time frame and you'll not only be compromising the quality of oyur work but also your enjoyment of your time at uni as well.

It was more of a fleeting idea than anything else. But, I have no idea exactly how much work each subject will entail. Most people get along fine doing 4 subjects? What's the harm in doing a few more if you can fit them into the timetable?
As well as that, I like the idea of keeping up with the subjects properly. If I stick to the suggested 3-5 subjects per semester guide, I'll have 100-level subjects draging into 2nd year, and I'll miss out on electives that otherwise look tasty. The way I'm looking at the timetable now, I can do each degree's three core subjects per semester, plus one elective for each semester. Which will mean that I can finish a double degree earlier, and it'll also mean I have another major. I'd finish in 3.5/4 years instead of 4.5.
HOWEVER I have no idea actually how much work all this will be.
I don't mind doing extra things if they're something I enjoy, but all the same, I don't want to be a mega nerd and have no life outside uni work.

Uni work is significantly harder than school work, 3/4 subjects per session will be fine. Why don't you enrol 4 subjects as a start and see how you can cope with it. If it is too easy for you, maybe then you can enrol more subjects in spring session.

That's completely psycho. 4 subjects is a decent workload, people who aren't mentally right go and attempt 5 subjects. 7 is just plain wrong.
Ok, here's a tip. For every credit point, it's assumed you'll put in 2 hours. So 7x6=42 (*2) = 84 hours minimum. Now that's ludicrous. 12 hours a day 7 days a week dedicated to study? It'll never happen.

As others have said, uni requires a considerably larger amount of effort than school work ever did. It's better to take it at a moderate pace and get D's and HD's than it is to cram it all in and only score P's and C's.
One problem with uni (or atleast with Physics/Engineering subjects) is that major assignments seem to magically all sprout at the same time and have a tendency of being due within days of each other. With 7 subjects, it would just be a nightmare.
Remember, uni isn't all about academic acheivement, a large part is also about having fun and socialising.

Yeah, assignments tend to spring up all at the same time. Usually due Week 5-6 and then Week 11-13. 4 assignments due at the same time is holycrapola. 7 or 8 is just suicidal.acullen said:

Haha yes yes, can't here break uni tradition.
I've picked out 4 (two from each degree) subjects for each semester now. Should be good just going normal pace.

Nice one, going at the normal load for a double degree means u add like an extra session or 2 onto that 4.5 years its meant to take you. Enjoy the uni life
