I know this might sound stupid but if accepted, will you be entering into the first year or second year of Pharmacy
Even more stupid questions:
1) Just to clarify, when you said "both courses are high demand", did you mean that they have a large workload?
2) When you said "1 year of full time study", is that all that needs to be done (what I mean is, if you apply, will you get in just by maintaining a credit average)
3) Regarding to fees: Will enrolling into the other courses means you have to pay the full CSP fee of both courses (the one you did previously and the one that you newly enrolled in)

1. Depends what degree you did before pharmacy. Generally though, you'll start in first year as there will be pharmacy-specific subjects, e.g. professional practice, which obviously you can't take in any other degree. They're revamping the whole system so it may change but I still think you'll enter into the first year as apparently they're making the new first years cover some subjects that were second year under the old system, and basically just shoving everything forward anyway.
2. Yeah, what do you mean by "both courses have high demand" Bacilli?
3. No, you need STAT, and 50% uni marks/50% UAI. So your UAI shouldn't be too far behind if you want a stronger chance of getting in. It's generally a Distinction average that's required to transfer, so it is very competitive! And it's competitively based, so if you're unlucky and you get a WAM of 75 (exactly a Distinction) but everyone else above you got a higher average than you, then you might miss out. So aim as high as you can, and though Distinctions are fantastic, don't just aim for that 75.

yes yes yes in both respects my answer is accurate, pharmacy n med sci aint no walk in the park kids - lots of chem, bio smath n specialist subjects (heavy workload; even heavier in the advscibmedsci)

get a job in a chemist because it will boost your application up a few points, as well as providing your services as a volunteer to the breast cancer foundation and other such organisationz

medical science does not require two years of tertiary study, only 1 year
doesn't matter if your uai is shit, they do not consider it when selecting applicants to b med science... they consider your applicantion based on your tertiary results

You can't transfer into 2nd year pharmacy at USYD after doing 1st year at CSU-the subjects simply do not match up. You basically have lighter load in first two years, but you will need to spend 4 years in USYD.Tommy21 said:
