I didn't know there was a hierarchy of "more Catholic" :-P
ACU is a public university and as such it is, and should be, welcoming and compassionate to all people. That doesn't make it "less" Catholic or in any way less "authentic", in my view it strengthens what we are about.
To the OP and...
I'm on Strathfield campus. We'll be under the archways near the quad. Books are assorted clear outs from people's bookcases, not textbooks as such. We raise money for students at the teacher's college in east timor throughout the year :-)
If you go here: Orientation 2009 - ACU National...
40 CP is the standard number of CP per semester ie four subjects.
The 50 CP warning just means you cannot enrol in more than 50 CP per semester without permission from your course coordinator (ie can do 5 subjects max).
Word of advice: go for at least the first two days.
Why?
So that you are settled in, know where things are, who is who and what to do before classes start so you can hit the ground running. Once other students return and your classes start, everywhere gets busy and can be really confusing...
I'm a student/staff member at Strathfield entering my 5th year and I'm still figuring out which room is where! Trust me when I say many of the room numbers do not make sense.
Definitely come to orientation and go on a campus tour. Print off your timetable beforehand and you can check off the...
You don't have to be religious to go to ACU full stop.
It's a public university, open to all.
It makes no difference if you are Catholic, if you follow another religion or have no religion at all. Everyone is welcome and treated the same.
It seems like a lot but it doesn't get heavier until later in the course. A full-time load is 4 units per semester (about 12hrs face-to-face).
You'll pick your units when you go into uni to enrol (that's what it was when I started but it may be online now), you'll pick units for both...
As far as course structure for BT/BA goes, take a look here:

I'm a humanities student so I'm not really sure of the...
I would strongly recommend the 4yr BT/BA course over the Dip.
I'm in my 3rd year of the course and absolutely loving it! You get a lot more practicum experience and do a lot more education subjects. Thinking about it, I think we do two times the number of units in education as DipEd students...
I too said that I "just bsed to get it" and I understand your argument but in my case I can't understand why I was knocked back while others that I know whose performance was not really affected by their disadvantage (given, I do not walk in their shoes) were accepted. My gripe is not with...
Goal (ie mark to hold head high): 90
Dream(ie could be really proud instead of just happy): 95
What I am capable of: 99+
What I prepared myself for/what I thought: Mid-High-80s
And......
*drum roll*
What I got: 88.95
Feels kind of like jumping off a building and hoping to land on the...
I didn't apply for USYD but I got rejected by UNSW.
It really sucks because my marks HAVE been severely affected over the course of the last two years, especially the past six months. My application could have been better but even with what is in there I should have gotten accepted. Shits me...
I didn't write very much at all... like max 6, ave 5, only 3 for my creative writing. Yet still I managed to do well by my own standard.
I do Advanced and failed all of my exams and most essays but then we figured out that I really was a spacca that couldn't physically write very much -->...
