Do law. Econ jobs are hard to get into. At least with law, you could broadly apply it to a range or areas.
Anything that will boost aggregate demand in the economy and the GDP. Increase government expenditure, cut taxes, encourage more consumer and business spending and investment. They could do a billion things!
They are quite varied areas. Why not read up on all of them and decide what you like. Do you like to deal with people (i.e. HR) or learn about how the economy works (i.e. economics) or want to learn about consumer behaviour (marketing) or do international business which I don't really have a...

Honours helps a lot. Most of my year went to do Treasury, ABS, productivity, private economic consulting, management consulting, + government departments.
Most of the time, you can get a $200 per hour tutor, but if the students don't want to study, then they won't get what they want. It all comes down the student at the end of the day
