out of slide rule, kfunk, who_loves_maths and finalfantasy who do u thinks most likely to top 4u this yr?
id say its a close call between slide rule and who_loves_maths
00 can be looked at as xx as x → 0
xx = exlogex
using l'hopital's rule, xlog<sub>e</sub>x → 0 as x → 0
:. xx as x → 0 goes to e0 which equals 1
:. 00 can be interpreted as 1
when analysing the 0/0 situation, using l'hopital's rule often helps
f(x)/g(x) as x approaches a equals f'(x)/g'(x) if f(x) and g(x) approach o or infinity as x approaches a
when u get a situation f(x)/g(x) where f(x) and g(x) approach 0 as x approaches some value, the value of f(x)/g(x) isnt necessarily 1 because it depends on the manner in which f(x) and g(x) approach 0
e.g.
2x-1/x...
i think its ok to use formulas but u should always make sure u completely understand how it works and how it is derived
in 4u u get rewarded for understanding how things work but unfortunately alot of teachers at bad schools are extremely lazy and try to teach the course through formula...
in maths almost all of the new work u cover will depend on something youve learnt before which means u still have to learn the 2 unit course
but dont worry because after you first learn the 2 unit course u wont have to revise it as it is revised through all the new work u will cover in 3 and...
my maths tutor said its ok to use the dv = 2πx . f(x) . dx method but u should draw a cyclinder and write:
radius = ...
height = ...
width = ...
just to be sure u get all available marks
going from first principals for each specific question in an exam is very time consuming and...
Hey Ogden_Nash, sorry ive taken so long to reply
for 4d part iv:
x = <sup>10pq</sup>/<sub>p+q</sub> ..... [1]
y = <sup>10</sup>/<sub>p+q</sub> ..... [2]
p+q = 3 ..... [3]
so from [2] and [3] y = 10/3
However, from [1] and [3]
:. x =...
hey gman03, just wondering does the workload for elec eng get lighter in the second yr?
also, thanks again for all ur help answering those maths q's before
math1081 - 75
math1141 - 91
does anyone know when the phys1131 results come back? i hope the scalings good enough to push my mark over the 40% required to pass
when i submitted the 2001 moriah paper to the resources section of this site i left out the solutions
i submitted the solutions a few weeks ago but they havent been put up yet so im attaching them to this post
i just wanted to make it clear that i didnt think acmilan was a bad mod, he just did afew things i didnt agree with
also, i completely agree with this. for instance in this post who_loves_maths's solution was very creative and would have given hsc students a set of tricks they can apply to...
i dont think acmilan is a bad mod but saying hes excellent is going a bit far dont u think?
i mean he has done alot of irritating things, like in this post he offers his 'personal' answers after 3 correct solutions have already been given
and other things like this that was put in a prev...
lol, theres no way youll get below 90 in mx2 final fantasy
u only need to beat 75% of 4u students to get 91 and there are alot of idiots doing 4u
people at my school last year couldnt even do the integration questions at the start of the 4u exam
lol, me too
its really bad when u misspell things with really stupid errors and others read it
e.g.
latus rectum -> lettice rectum
organism -> orgasm lol
