Re: BoS O-Week Meatup '07
Don't quote me as my memory is somewhat lagging but i'm pretty sure they were rather pointless. Most of the stuff they will have to say you will soon learn from your lectures and various other sources anyway.
Apparently it's like 60% girls overall or so i've heard but it definitely more apparent in the arts faculty (and the Vetinary department too my friends tell me). I was still surprised to see the bias in gender in the archaeology department even moreso when i did some work experience on an...
Mines pretty damn shite. Two 4 hour breaks and only one lecture on friday - quite annoying when you have to travel like 2 hours each way :mad1:
Observe!
Well I actually have two 4 hour breaks, 1 on monday, one on wednesday. All attempts to change them have resulted in me having a 6 hour block of lessons = no friggen way. Which leaves me filling my breaks with
a)Study, b)Maybe volunteer at the Nicholson, and the all important c)Bluding with...
I was thinking much the same thing last year, being a huge fan of fantasy in general but not of roleplaying, but my worries were soon put to rest.
Sutekh focuses on a whole range of 'pop-culture' as they like to call it. Roleplaying and videogames do enter among our major focuses but Fantasy...
Yeah i've had this problem a lot too. Having gone to an all guys school I havn't exactly had a lot of experience with 'liking' people before lol, and now being thrown into the uni atmosphere it's sometimes hard to not like (to varying degrees) every single girl you have any sort of interaction...
Anyone going to regurgitator this Friday? I don't really know them that well but I bought a ticket for a friend for their birthday and thought I may as well tag along:)
Most of the stuff in ARPH1001 isn't neccesarily vital but it does help a great deal to get a basic background in archaeological concepts. Personally i'd do the course again for Martin Gibbs alone, he's the best lecturer i'm yet to encounter. You'll cover some of the content again breifly in the...
Re: BoS O-Week Meatup '07
Well I shouldn't be hard to miss now either seeing as i'll be wearing either
a)Aragorn costume, parading my nerdiness in all its glory as 'sign pirate' for Sutekh:rolleyes:
OR
b) My awesome new hat
So yeah, feel free to say hi if you see some nerd around Fisher, though...
Every unit is different really, i'm afraid. Some will have one textbook and all readings will come from that. Others will have course readers available to buy while others still you'll have to go to the library to photocopy particular chapters/exceprts for. Theres really no way of knowing until...
It's not so much the 5 days as i'll often travel in just to see friends and skip my lecture(s) for the day :p It's more the having to get up at 5 in order to get to uni by 8:mad1: But you don't have to worry about that till semester 2 anyway lol
How exactly does liberal studies work again? It...
Well here goes...in no particular order...
1. Ayreon - Into the electric castle
2. Blind Guardian - Imaginations from the other side
3. Edguy - Rocket Ride
4. Freedom Call - Eternity
5. Diablo Swing Orchestra - The Butcher's Ballroom
6. Misfits - American Psycho
7. Gamma Ray - Powerplant
8...
Living way out west ftl :(
I'm at Penriff which is bad enough but i know others at Springwood and even further up the mountains who have to make the daily commute to usyd every day. It does tend to put a damper on ones ability to have a proper uni social life
Well maths was compulsory for me too (I'm doing the double degree in Arts/Sc, which i think is similar to liberal studies) and I did the lowest difficulty possible. It wasn't particularly hard, I was just too unmotivated to bother studying for it.:o The worst part was Maths screwing up what...
Actually I find it much the opposite, well at least if you talk in terms of 'true love'. I went to an all guys school so I might be talking out of my ass here, but judging from friends experiences it seems while it might be relativly easy to find 'love' in school, such relationships are more...
