    problem about transformers

Ok. Power = VI agreed? As the globe attached has a (lets assume) constant resistance, as we increase V (from more coils) it will result in more current going through the globe, and thus more power (P = VI). Now, as the primarly current induces the secondary current, any increase one way or...

    Branches of Physics

What they hell is mathematical physics? So there is non-mathematical physics? Most, if not all physics has maths in it. Anyway, I prefer applied physics. Not much point having a subject that has no real basis.

I have got my results back: 97%

    creative writing advice?!

My teacher gave me good advice. Only write about something you have done yourself and therefore know about. It doesnt have to be a complex, thrilling story, simple real and presenting aspects of journeys etc

    Garden Hose material

I think the reinforcing thread is nylon, and the other polymers i have no idea about. I imagine there is no generic garden hose polymer; they are made out of varying materials.

Enlighten me on what that stands for

    safety factors in engineering

Common sense never fails with these. If you are adding a safety factor, you wouldnt make the diameter of a cable smaller would you? ;)

    Hsc Timetable!!!

I meant engineering studies - not engineering at uni. Engineering studies is very watered down. I am aware that engineering at uni is difficult

Since when did being short become 'sexy'? x___x

BTW everyone - average male height in Aust = 178cm. Dont argue, its true. That happens to be my height, so yes, I do prefer girls that are shorter than me. OR at least no taller.

You *know* you're a physics nerd when...

Did i ever say that it was "special"? No. I did not. The topic title is referring to physics nerdyness, and you cannot come 2nd in physics at a selective schools without being a nerd, because how well you do depends on how much work you do, not just natural ability. And you must have some...

You *know* you're a physics nerd when...

When you are coming 2nd at a selective school When you cry when you realise that the real world isnt like "magic vacuum land" like in the year 12 syllabus. When you make an induction coil at home and set it up, running, as an ornament. When you calculate the amount of plutonium you would need...

the BEST thing about ... PHYSICS!!!! (oh and the worst thing?) LOL

Best: Its easy (for me - 2nd at selective school) and interesting. Worst: Syllabus is watered down so you end up learning half-truths and lies as opposed to real stuff (eg in motors and generators for induction motors)

Picking up Engineering studies in year 12

"Smartness", "hardness". Lucky you didnt do 3 unit accelerated english. BTW i did accerated maths too, so dont fling that one back at me (and I received a mark of 91 in it). Its a dead easy subject, I agree. But I find it interesting, and I am looking at engineering at uni. I wouldnt think that...

Year 10. Actually, year 8. But year 10 was when I was taught it in school.

    What element are you?

Iron. Mind you, I dont see how you could possible get something like Plutonium, Ytterium, Boron etc. Its a pretty dumb test. And not funny really.

    Ok... I have a problem

    Yeah, thats.....weird.

    Efficiency

We are talking about induction motors, not transformers.

Please type with proper grammar and spelling. I find that excruciating to read ;)

    Exercise!

80 pushups everyday (but thurs and fri - morning classes) before brekkie, as well as weights on those days too. I do it all at home. No ridiculous gym fees for me!
