The answer to that is simply pushing him into the ground. Given his build, it's very easy to do. Or remind him that in an arm wrestle, he will be beaten by almost everyone. Both has worked well.
You're looking at discontinue without failure (DNF), which has the deadline of 24th April. You are still liable for HECS for the course but will not record a failure.
Depending on faculty, you may redo the 6cp in any subject you would like, provided you have completed the necessary...
Why would honours in three years mean smaller HECS debt? The only possibility for that is for prerequisites to be waived, for which you do not need to be in TSP for.
I find both of those untrue and quite stereotypic. Many maths doctorates work in a wide variety of industries, and a PhD does not imply you want to become an academic, nor is it the only criterion to become one.
This is a MATH1001 assignment question. Try doing it yourself first.
Why are the first year students so eager to cheat and get other people to do their assignments this year...
You could transfer but I presume it is an internal transfer rather than going through UAC (which would just be a waste of money).
Talk to the faculty office. Just don't ask why there are two separate degrees.
The integral on the left is less than the right, but the statement is true. \leq means less than or equal to, with the "or" clearly being exclusive or, so there is nothing wrong with that since only one has to be valid ie 2\leq5 and 5\leq5 are both true.
Seriously, applying for uni is not like applying for grant money: if you can't figure it out yourself to some degree, you probably shouldn't go to uni.
Just to clarify the above post, there is no need to transfer because all the science courses at USyd are the same. If you've completed the requirements of adv science in your degree, you will get adv science on your testamur. Otherwise you get just science.
For standard CASIO calculators with 12 digit mantissa (display) the memory stores 15 digits, so the calculator does store more than it can display, but not to the extent of 70 digits. This is to avoid rounding errors in most cases.
Having \pi accurate up to the 10th decimal place is already...
1. Very few actually parks on campus. High cost and lack of spaces.
2. Those that do pay for parking, knowing how vigilant patrols for parking violations are.
UNSW does not have the upper hand in maths. If you want to do anything in algebra, USyd is the best option. Analysis, it would be UNSW. There is no uni that is good at every discipline in maths in Australia.
Do the preparation questions first, and then maybe have an attempt at a few more. We want you to be prepared, but also working in the tutorial as well (if you come in with all the questions done and want to leave, you will not be marked off).
