I think that school comes more naturally to some people than others, and that "naturally smart" in this context just means that you are able to retain school work without as much effort. I also think that almost anyone can get high 90's with enough effort. Emphasis on the 'almost' though!

With our class most of the ppl who did well in year 11 went crap in year 12 and vica versa. I was shocking in year 11 but now i'm coming 2nd over all :). I'd say stick with it, and practice moles as much as possible - i hate them too (esp. gas volume calculations!!), but if you blitz everything...

My suggestion: Write a polite (but strong) letter to the principal and get the whole class to sign it. We triumphed over our crappy year 11 phys teacher that way. If you have a cool principal that repects his seniors it should work...

DONT GET DEPRESSED!!! Some teachers mark the trials easy to get spirits up and others mark hard to make us want to try harder. Congrats to all of you who did really well, but to everyone else --- DONT STRESS too much! I went well myself, first in the year in ADV. MATH!!! FINALLY!!!

Or maybe its like our school too. We were accelerated in 2U math if we did ext. 1, and did the 2u paper in year 11. If we liked our mark we could bank it and just do the extention part in year 12. I didnt keep mine so i'm redoing it this year. Its a good idea but a bit of pressure.
