Re: Wow, fuck that
I think the consensus was that it was 8. I stuffed it up and wrote 4, dammit.. I forgot that 1 period = travel to both extremities and back. Bahhhh.
Re: Wow, fuck that
Yeah, implicit is only in 4 unit. But this isn't implicit - all you're doing is differentiating the volume with respect to l, so you treat h as a constant.
Re: Wow, fuck that
For part ii), you had to use the sum of interior opposite angles = exterior angle (since it was isosceles) - this ended up = 2x, and since angles in same segment are =, it was cyclic.
For the last part, I *think* it was that line from centre of circle which bisects a chord...
Re: Wow, fuck that
Didn't you just have to differentiate the volume with respect to l? Ie. Take h as a constant.
And overall I thought the exam was pretty doable. There was nothing obscenely hard, it just required more time to nut stuff out. Fingers crossed for 75+/84
Probably around 75-80, depending on how many sympathy marks they give me heh :P
annoyed with myself, because I'd done a very similar mechanics question before and that conics question was in one of my assessments. :(
I'm not happy as I know I could've done much better, but one makes stupid...
Yep. Your HSC marks are the aligned marks you get from the Board of Studies, eg. 94 in chem, etc.
Your atar is calculated by UAC, which used the BOS data to rank everyone. HSC marks are out on the 14th Dec, ATAR on the 15th of Dec
Oh okay. Damn.. wish I had known this :( I thought we were only allowed to quote the integrals on the sheet. ah well. pissed off, cause I'd done a question that looked almost identical to that in terms of integration and didn't have time to bash it with partial fractions. Fml, kissing my band 6...
Since when is that a standard integral? The only one that looks vaguely like that is the 1/(a^2 + x^2) one.. there isn't one with a negative in the middle on the sheet...?
Hi all,
Okay so I know that there is no such thing as an inherently 'easier' course, but surely there must be universities with easier assessments etc.
I'm tossing up between a science course (maybe adv science) at unsw, Usyd and uws. The end goal is to get a GPA/WAM of 7.0 and I want the...
