yeah i know people who write fuck all and do score high. but that's not to say that you can't rave on and on pagespages and pick up extra marks because you Pretend to have a clue as to what it is yr writing about
will it present a dilemma to the markers, you using post-post modernism instead of plain postmodernism?
because i wondered last night about using p-postmodernism to explain DWM but figured it was beyond the point of the course and not in the criteria guide or whatever
i used to think it was quality over quantity too, until i started writing pages and pages of shit all and getting marks for it
--hard habit to break though :)
hah yeah i had some trouble with that too,
ended up doing representation of resistance to mainstream or some such nonsense-- basically because 'mainstream' was left pretty open and could be defined in a number of ways
either way i think i ruined my essay by doing DWM and didn't really make...
i ended up using orlando for it because i was so confused about the point of the other ones
but then i got confused about orlando too and fucked it up and made ugly non-postmodern contradictions and you know what didn't even answer the question. i went overtime in the first one a bit so...
dude you're "doing nothing for either"? it pisses me off that you're entirely willing to get on here and ask for notes but that you give no indication of your going out and finding any of your own.
my teacher taught me fuck all so i got my own. what about your textbook? have you looked at it...
oh look you probably know way more about it than me. i don't remember how it ended but for that bit where Swain gets all crazy-psychotic. i'll reference you in my essay; you can be a quote. :D
i'm the same. i've spent all day considering the possibility of thinking maybe there's a chance i might somehow question the idea of perhaps studying.
and well i'm still mulling it over while the pretty white clouds from my 2week break from exams are disintegrating around me.
does that mean that Williamson is a liberal humanist?
i took it to be almost like Foucault vs Shakespeare-- Post-structuralism vs liberal humanism with Williamson as the voice of Angela-- realising the possiblity of a merging of both, despite the negative light that Swain (representative of...
omg DO IT. postmodernism that is. i couldn't imagine doing crime fiction anyway and what you're thinking is daring and brave,
DARING AND BRAVE!
(did anyone else just realise that the exam is tomorrow MORNING and not tomorrow MIDDAY? ugh. could i be any more pathetic and screwed. :( )
ahahaha.
on another note-- i can't even locate one of my related texts (Atonement) and have not rehired Mulholland Drive to make notes for that. panickpanickpaaiiiiinnick.
hah, if you know of a good essay that i can memorise then i will, otherwise no. :(
i honestly truly really don't know many of the 'concepts' of postmodernism, aside from the various reasons of inversion / subversion. i think i'm going to do it more generally? like, the paradox of the entire...
