alrighty thanks. it's actually made me reconsider hey...
i prob will look like a nerd child with a lappo toppo! and my writing skills are bound to fail! :( might just put up with the inconvenience of scribbling everything down on paper..
dunno if this has already been mentioned, but is it necessary to buy/get your hands on all these books that have been listed?!
someone told me that some texts are simply recommended but others are essential. i don't wanna waste $$$ buying a textbook that'll be opened only once.
Yo dawgs
The following was in the SMH 'Student Survival Guide'
" Pen and paper doesn't cut it. To do your assignments you're going to need a computer
Do not be afraid. You no longer have to cast your lot in with the geeks to carry a notebook computer around campus. Even the jocks...
haha rad! :D i'm constructing two timetables - one for if i CAN do both and one for if i have to drop one (i'll drop WST110 cuz i've wanted to do anthro since i was literally.. born!) and probs pick up PHIL137 Critical Thinking..
thanks for all your feedback :)
haha yeah that's what i was thinking hey...or maybe do the online learning for women's studies or some shit? meh..i'll have to talk it over with the "academic advisors" i reckon.
Grr!! This is my proposed schedule of units...
:First Semester:
ANTH106 Drugs Across Cultures
PHIL132 Philosophy, Morality and Society
AHST102 Greek Society 500-300 Oikos to Polis
WST110 Gender Issues in the Contemporary Context
:Second Semester:

Yay! :) Got my first preference, a simple Bachelor of Arts at Macquarie! Prob gonna study Ancient History, Anthropology and Philosophy. Anyone on a similar track!?
ha i didnt study throughout the year at all. i did a month study for each hsc exam (like 4 weeks before paper one, four weeks before history etc) and that was sufficient, just made my own notes under every syllabus dot point and did practice responses and made sure my weak points were covered...
actually, i get it. my exam mark was 94 so that means between the society and culture examination and my PIP i only lost 6 marks right? :uhhuh:
so the lowest mark i could have got for my PIP would have been 24/30 which would mean 100% in my exam... (unlikely, as i know i lost a couple of marks)
43 for external and 45 for assessment so :. 44/50
a bit annoyed i couldn't have got oooone more mark to get in band 6 but i'm still pretty happy considering i didn't think i'd even get over 40 cuz i thought i totally f*cked my assessments throughout the yr for 4 unit.
but hey, anything...
all my subjects were scaled down except the extension subjects i did, so i cannot understand how i got a UAI of 95.2?! the extension subjects, which i did alright in, probably pulled me up. maybe my ranking played a part in it too, cuzi got in the top five for all my subjects...
i'm STOKED with my ancient history :p
i thought i totally plonked my assessment mark cuz i failed one section in the trial although i came 2nd in my yr for ancient
exam - 90%
assessment - 92%
hsc mark - 91%
very happy - i thought i could only dreaaam of getting in band 6!
