    predictions on 2u maths

I didn't think last year's paper was very difficult so I don't think this year's will be too difficult, either. My only problem will be that I work really slowly at maths and probably show too much working out so I may be pushing for time.

    Home made beer

My mates made beer in chemistry last year using the most random ingredients they could find. I think one was banana beer which by all accounts tasted pretty toxic, and another was what they strawlberry beer, which was made from strawberries and mulberries. Weird combination but it apparently...

    Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch Changes...

I'm completely dirty about this! I've been bitching forever that there's too much to know in the current syllabus and then they go and change it on us after we leave!

    Which Module?

I do Retreat from the Global and I hate it for a multitude of reasons I dislike Seamus Heaney's poetry, and the link between some of the poems and RFTG is very tenuous, I think. My class also has issues with the name. Every lesson we seem to bitch about how global is an adjective and it's...

Which School is doing Retreat From The Global?

Oxley is doing RFTG We also hold a collective vendetta against Seamus Heaney (damn you and you're disturbing infatuation with bodies in bogs!!!) and Annie Proulx (damn you and the silent x in your name!!!)

Pulp Fiction: Mia: Warm, warmer, disco Vincent: Why Fox Force Five? Mia: Well, fox because we're foxy ladies, force because we're a force to be reckoned with, and five because there's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of us. Austin Powers II: Dr Evil: It has a certain...I don't know what, but I'm sure the...

most annoying person in an exam room

My school's hall is at the front of the school, so when you have an afternoon exam you get the sound of a thousand bloody buses stopping and then starting, and then there's the roadworks that the council has deicded to start with excavators about a hundred metres away from the hall. I notice...

    Jap cont.

I don't think that was the first question. I think it was about question three or four which was the weather report that said it's better if kids don't play outside. I got the part about the maximum temperature beeing 29 degrees and the weather being hot, but I must have missed the air pollution.

Confess, again. How many pages did you write?

BNW/BR: 6 Speeches: 5 Birthday Letters: 5.5 I was pretty happy with that because I normally only manage to get about 3 pages, and my writing's fairly narrow so I can fit a fair bit to each line.

    Jap cont.

If memory serves me correct, I think she was asking the guy if he would come to the Blue Mountains with with her friend who was coming from Japan next week. I was quite surprised at how much of the listening I was able to understand. Though I did end up laughing in the cat dictionary section...

    how'd everyone go in speakin???

I felt I went pretty and the examiner I had was really nice so I think that helped to calm my nerves. Fortunately she asked a lot of questions for which I had huge slabs of information memorised. Her first question was "what do you do on the weekend?" which was a bit of a free kick so I launched...

An advantage of using monetary policy to manage the economy

What I meant was that the RBA can change monetary policy at more regular intervals than the government can change fiscal policy (i.e. once/month versus once/year, respectively). Thus, monetary policy can be changed more often to reflect the anticipated economic conditions, giving it an advantage...

An advantage of using monetary policy to manage the economy

Monetary policy is faster to implement than fiscal policy. i.e. the RBA meets monthly to decide the cash rate, whereas the government will only have one budget per year (or also a mini-budget, but this rarely happens). Secondly, as the RBA is independent of the government, monetary policy...

I think my class is rather unusual in that of the 7 people in my class, 6 are guys and there's only one girl. I presume that are majority of people who study Japanese (or any other language) are girls.
