there's usually a few things u can use to "compare and contrast" in the earlier q's... sort of leading you to techniques/themes that are common in both texts. I just tend to use those and throw in a couple of others

i like life as a house, it's a good one to use. i also like peter pan (the book or the movie) it's good for the contrast between wendy's inner journey ( coming to the realisation she has to grow up etc....) and peter's lack of one (wanting to remain a boy forever, refusing to change/ grow up etc.)

also 'flashcards' may help. WRite the formulas you're having the most trouble remembering on cards, and get a friend to est you

when you're doing past papers, do you write the formulas down before you start the question? i find that helps. also some formulas can be made to be more easily remembered (eg. Simpson's Rule- h/3[end values+FOTE] (FOTE= four odd, two even)

this is just a generalisation but normally newspaper articles use more formal language and are more 'fact based', whereas feature articles are more to do with the writer's opnions/experiences with the subject area, and use less formal language. i associate newspaper articles with newspapers(...

go with the guy on the advice line. They're all experienced HSC markers so i spose they'd know best. There's also the possibility that your teacher was making you do three just for practice I don't know, in my opinion, i'd be going with 2...

i don't think you would get marked down at all, provided you do those 2 poems in sufficient detail.

i think the idea is that if you eat breakfast in general before an exam you'll perform better (which, incidentally is true), but since they're trying to flog weet-bix, they shamelessly put in weet-bix instead of 'breakfast', as if it is the only thing that will work. P.S.- the ad is starting to...
