    mod c

Ur correct abt some things except the prepared responses part. Its good to write and 'memorise' prepared responses. Where most people lose marks is when they 'copy and paste' that prepared response without adapting it to the question. It's better to perfect a prepared character, setting, or...

    mod c

Have a base/skeleton story that u can adapt to any scenario or question. Make it revolve on a certain something e.g. the setting, a particular symbol, or your character. As for discursive, just do as many as u can tbh. NESA is very unpredictable with that one. 2024 HSC had a Mod C Discursive so...

how cooked am i after my first english marks?

Im going with the assumption that your doing English Advanced or Extension. If so, 60% is very salvageable as long as you do well in your other tasks (80+ to be safe). The big decider will be your trials. If you can get and 80+ (in the trials)*, a HSC mark of 90+ is quite possible. 75+ in your...

How hard is it to get early entry

You have plenty of time to build some things up (I think applications close or open for rounds 1 and 2 in July and August respectively?~Correct me if I'm wrong). If you don't mind me asking, what course are you interested in for the maq leaders and achievers program? For something like Law, I'd...

    Still unsure of what degree

Ill try my best to explain from my understanding. I'm also just about to enter my first yr of uni and still nosing around some things. From what i've been told/what I've read, a surgical tech basically prepares the operating theatre for surgeries, including sanitising/preparing the tools and...

    Still unsure of what degree

Oh wow... kudos to them lol. That's such a flex tho lol. Imagine ur title being 'MD. JD. ___'

    Still unsure of what degree

If u do a B/Med sci, you can probably have a career as a surgical tech with further study or experience. Thats my plan, to part time work whilst studying for gamsat or med, should I not get in straight away. I've also got a law/media & law/med sci offer... hope I dont regret rejecting those 😭

    What should i do?

I'd keep earth. I was in a similar predicament as u but instead of earth, I did investigating science (which also scales terribly). Just be sure that you can get a B6 in earth. I got a B6 for investigating and even that didn't contribute to my atar in a positive or negative way. Its js one of...

how much study do you intend to do over the summer

I think the things said in this thread have kinda blown out of proportion especially in these past few days... Just do whatever works for u, be it a 12hr study session or 3hrs a day. The important thing is balance and prioritising what you like/enjoy. If thats studying hard for your future, then...

    Bio mod 7

nah not really. Also, that parts not too difficult once u have a fair understanding of it. Breaking it down in diagrams/flow charts or dot points helps. Here's a section of my notes on that part. The Third Line of Defence The Adaptive Immune System Antibody-mediated immunity B Lymphocytes (B...

How should I be studying for my subjects?

I can help for eng adv and bio. English Adv: - Do all you required reading now. Ideally you'd want to be on the second or third re-read when u go through it as a class. U pick up more details - Start practice writing now. Do some essays and responses under timed conditions. Writing is a skill...

    WHAT SHOULD I DROP???

dw about scaling. Do u think u can maintain a high rank and good mark in pdhpe? Thats all that matters tbh. Seeing as you've already done 2 subjects (4 units), you'll be doing 7 Units, or 9 including pdhpe, which gives you either 14 or 8 study periods if I'm correct... which is more than enough...

How hard is it to get early entry

Like @teaR__ I collected early entries lol (Maq, WSU, UTS, ANU, ACU, Newcastle) ~ So don't limit yourself to maq uni. I got multiple maq offers (law, clinical sci, med sci) through the leaders and achievers scheme and Schools recommendation scheme. Depending on the course u want, ik ppl that got...

Bio module that is the most content-heavy and hardest

mod 7/8. My school combined both 7 and 8 and geez its a lot to take in. Also, dont underestimate the epidemiology/epidemiological studies part... Apparently mod 6 was also tough but imo I found it not bad compared to 7/8

    Still unsure of what degree

nah u can enrol in two degrees as long as u get offered them from seperate rounds. Reason is cos UAC only allows u to accept one offer pre round from whichever is placed as ur highest preference. but u can still accept an offer in round 1, then another in round 2, and enrol in both degrees.

2024 HSC Students who got into unsw/usyd law, what were your atars/lat scores?

u don't need to, but I would recommend u doing it to maximise your chances. TBH the line between LAT and ATAR isn't that clear. As long as both are above 90, u have a chance imo. + The LAT is only one day and it didn't affect my studies at all~ mostly cos I didn't bother preparing for it. Seeing...

2024 HSC Students who got into unsw/usyd law, what were your atars/lat scores?

yes u should. Ur LAT result is valid for 2 years but they take your HIGHEST/BEST score. You can do it as many times as u want but only once an year. That way, if ur new lat score is better, yay, if not, u have your previous score to back u. I got 80/100 (2024) first try with no practice + no...
