Hey everyone, Ngo and Sons have typed up the solutions for the entire MX2 (4U) paper that was conducted today. The link to the worked solutions is here:

Good luck everyone :) I hope you all did well!
14 units is definitely a lot, however, if you genuinely enjoy all 14 units and have the time to study for all your units, then it is okay. I knew a people who have done extremely well in the HSC with 14 units.
can't do the question right now but i assume that this is how you do it:
since x^3 + 3ax^2 + 3bx + c = 0 has a double root then this means that p(x) = x^3 + 3ax^2 + 3bx + c has a double zero. let this double zero be y. then p(y) = 0 and p'(y) = 0. this means that y^3 + 3ay^2 + 3by + c = 0 and...
If you don't have enough time to memorise all the content and do multiple past papers, you should definitely consider trying to do as much of a past paper as possible. If you are stuck, only then do you get out your notes and then answer the question
English and Physics - I did better in the actual HSC
Everything else - I did better in the trials
But I didn't do a lot better, only better by like a few %
Went from rank 15/40 in prelim physics to rank 4/35 in hsc physics. Also went from rank 35/80 in prelim standard english to rank 3/80 in hsc standard english.
Like pikachu975 said, do past papers from your school or past papers that are of similar difficulty to your school's exams. Leading up to the HSC, you should be doing more difficult past papers (from the top schools) so that you are familiar with a wider range of questions
