I was at uni five days a week and it cost me about $200 for a semester. That was just over $2 a return trip. I have to buy a flexipass for the whole year, now. It's going to cost me about $600. It's only worth it if you're going to uni five days a week.

Minimal requirement for maths for a science degree is mathematics. You'll need to do a bridging course for that as well as chemistry and physics (for usyd anyway).

Biochemistry is completely different to chemistry. You'll learn about proteins, DNA replication, enzymes, metabolism, etc. It's more of a descriptive subject to answer your question.
