Like some of you (maybe?), I've had trouble downloading things off webct. Sometimes the lecture notes/slides will download but mostly the page just come up as blanks. When they do download I can't print them properly, the printed page comes out blank except for "page 1 of 1" on the top and...

*shakes head* By using your rule which alternates between the addition of 2 and 4, since 2 + 2 = 4, then .: to get the number before it, it would need to be 1 + 4 which = 5 or 2 - 4, which = -2 and not 2. :p .: I agree with baby beanie :)

[/B] I think the teacher missed a rule...I don't get WHY you do that. I just took it by looking at the answer that the "derivate of the power" goes out infront of the rest ie that's where I thought the 3 came from. Yes thanks FishSauce you did get the right answer. :):)

Thanks, now I know we haven't done that rule. :) However looking at the answers shouldn't it also have the derivative of the power x as well? eg dy/dx=f'(x).ln(a).a^x ???

Thanks :) but I did a) and b) but I didn't understand c) Well the answer for 4c is Cos (7π)/12 = [1+(sq-root3)]/(sq-root8) Sine (7π)/12 = [1+(sq-root3)]/(sq-root8) I feel like I'm missing something really obvious, coz they're conjugate pairs or something :confused:

If z = [1+(sq-root3)i] x (1+i) 4a) Express z in the form x+iy, where x and y are real :)

Re: Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides? Text books aren't that important esp for prelim. You could borrow text books from your friends and family for a night or two to write notes and stuff - I'm sure they'll be more than willing to lend them to you. Raid your town library or school...
