I'm on it at the moment, it's been great especially with the speed. I want more download size tho, 18GB for myself just doesn't seem to cover everything :p

It's $60 setup if I can remember, around 8 days from the 1st time you apply for the internet to the point where your internet would start to magically work.

Monthly bill is $50, credit card only. They don't count your uploads.

My connection speed is 21645/1014, I'm living about 1k away from the telephone exchange. Actual download speed can get close to the connection speed but it's often up to the server because most servers only serve at 1MB/s. Microsoft's website can get very fast tho, a 22MB update file took about 10 seconds.

Speed test :) You need to use the cable test, because dsl2+ is actually faster than cable. Otherwise you'll be just testing the letency.

I chosed the Netcomm NB5 from TPG at the start, but the modem turned out faulty and often crashes. So now I'm using DLink Dsl-502T (with latest firmware).

In conclusion, yes get it.

stupid download caps no body likes them.

This technology sounds like a gun. We are stuck on a cable contract I think.

On that link above, what does "Shaping" mean? It has "128k/128k" in that column.

Shaping is the speed they slow you down to once you've gone over your limit.

For instance, telstra slows to 64/128 basically dial-up speed. Lol and their "unlimited" plan isn't really unlimited.

Shaping

Once the specified monthly download quota is reached, download speed is reduced to the "shaping" speed until the end of the billing month. Shaping allows you to download even when you go over monthly download quota and protect you from unexpected excess download charges.
