OK, im overseas right now, unable to get in touch with my drama teacher and I've just decided on a whim I'm out of my depth in performance and am going to change to Theatre Criticism. Is anyone else doing this that can give me some advice? Am I too late to change? how far are u all with your reviews..is it a wise or stupid decision...plz help!

Of course it's not too late! You can see 4 plays one after another very easily. I've only done ONE draft of ONE review. And I don't plan on writing others or worrying about it till the April holidays, coz my half-yearlies are so more important.

My only advice is to start ringing around, or start searching the web, for plays that u can go and see over the next few months. Get at least 5 productions booked. After you see them you just have to review them.

try and see if u can email a friend who can pass on ur email to your drama teacher.

Hey, although i AM biased, but Company B is a REALLY good option, cause its grade A, professional stuff! Try "In Our Name" (april 22-may 30) - also really good for Physical Journeys... "Our Lady of Sligo" (june10 - july11) - IRISH DRAMA! and "Midsummer nights dream" (July22 - September 5) - although this one cuts it a bit fine... you'll only have a month to review and submit it!

You guys so can't tell im doing my research project on them... the stupid subscribers booklet is sitting PERMANENTLY on my desk.. I might as well tatoo it to my forehead!

STC is REALLY expensive, even for concession!!! Try Griffin at the stables... but they are in KingsX, so im not sure... :) ummm... New Theatre (Newtown), Q Theatre (Penrith), The Performance Space (NO Clue! but apparently they are REALLY experimental), and The Ensemble (North Shore...) So give it a go.. just type them into a search engine.

Yeh STC and the opera house is expensive, but they help you out if ur a student. So does Belvoir, I think.

STC has school days where you can go and see the play and then ask the actors and directors questions, which I think is fantastic. I was going to go to the "Frozen" day, except I have some crappy interview thing on at school. GRR!

Yeah, the MTC (Melbourne Theatre Company) have those, they're called 'Student Rush' tickets.

New Theatre in Newtown? Bah. Saw that bloody awful play reading there. Bah.

If you're totally desperate, come down to Albury and see shows at Hothouse Theatre. Tis Hothouse, tis good!!!!

Acutally, if you're in Sydney...
One of their shows: 'Second Childhood' (Bloooddy Marvellous and that ain't no bias) is actually touring later this year (July/August/September) and I think it getting to Parramatta. If that helps.

Hey, thanks so much guys! That really helps.

When we saw STC plays we would only pay $16 each prebooked
