I guess because u need to measure it do determine whether or not the astronoauts can handle it. Otheriwise, you measure it to ensure that the spacecraft won't be broken apart by the stress caused by the g-forcesserge said:I know how it's used
and what the term means
but why is it used?
why can't you just say that 'X' number of newtons of stress is placedrama_v said:I guess because u need to measure it do determine whether or not the astronoauts can handle it. Otheriwise, you measure it to ensure that the spacecraft won't be broken apart by the stress caused by the g-forces
you could, but not many ppl know what 500 N feels like. Tell em what 4 g's feels like and they have a better ideajake2.0 said:why can't you just say that 'X' number of newtons of stress is placed
That seems logical.... So on earth when no other forces are acting on us,mitsui said:regard to the main Q
g-term is a vector quantity measuring the g-force in a gravitation field. BUT becoz in our gravitation field the onli (if air resistance is neglected) force is the acceleration due to gravity
hence we mostly recognise g=Ag (acc. due to gravity)
later u will learn g-force as =apparantly weight/true weight
where all forces (so not juz acc. due to gravity) will be taken into consideration when caculating the net force in a lift off
so g-force is used mainly (as every1 has pt out.XD) to help work out a spacecraft's escape velocity
... xD.. (hope i am rite)
