which book(s) unsw use?It will be different for different universities. There is unlikely to be one book that covers everything. All books you are prescribed to have should be in the library, while many of the recommended books will also be there in most libraries.

Your thread title said "maths", so I'll assume the question is for maths. You buy the course pack at the UNSW bookshop. The course pack includes notes attached to problems, and there's information booklet and past papers book(let). If you just want the problems, then they can be downloaded from the website (but you need to be enrolled in the course). Now, if you are looking for "engineering" in general, then there's only a recommended study plan, but the content I learn may be different to the content my friend learns if we choose different subjects or electives. The maths is pretty much the only same thing in the first year, and a dodgy engineering design course. Not all streams do physics, not all streams do the same computing. Different streams have different core subjects. Different streams have different recommended electives, some overlap. In fact, there's more possibility for difference than alike for first year engineering.
