While I can only provided more examples to support what has already been stated, you asked for further contributions
You want as strong a link to the Adv or Ext 1 courses as possible. Don't analyse things on a simplistic level - try delving into numerous aspects even. While this might not be relevant during the proposal stage, make sure that you later discuss specific elements (language, forms and features) which you used to convey these Adv/Ext1 concepts. Also, make sure that you're <b>furthering and extending</b> the skills and knowledge gained from these two courses.

While my ‘specialised study’

Not only have I written within three divergent crime sub-genres, but my major work also combines elements of science fiction. While Extension 1 afforded me basic knowledge of generic conventions, my extensive research and experimentation within the genre has ensured that I attempted to develop and refine my writing skills ‘to a level of distinction’
<!--[if !supportFootnotes]-->[2]<!--[endif]-->. Thus, I have used my Extension 1 knowledge and skills to supply a foundation for a more sophisticated and layered analysis of genre.

During the preliminary stages of the course, we discussed the reasoning behind crime fiction’s enduring popularity. Consequently, I came to question society’s fascination with criminology and violence. This led me to explore ‘wound culture’, a pivotal concept within my major work. Such analysis of modern psychology resulted in my decision to set all three crimes within the 20th century, enabling an exploration of contemporary motives, desires and ways of thinking. Thus, I transformed a brief and introductory portion of the Extension 1 course into a central, intellectual focus.
