At what stage would you determine one member to be drunk? Seeing someone as drunk is a subjective thing and the alcohol affects people differently, so while a police officer might see someone as drunk, his friends might see it differently as might another police officer. Unless you go for BAC to determine who is drunk but then you need to go have a breathalyser multiple times during the night.

They're implying you can't buy somebody a drink when they are "drunk".
You all know what drunk is, it's the guy at the bar so pissed that he cant remember the name of the beer he wants, he slurrs everything and gets aggressive when you tell him/her no more.
They're stopping this because it is illegal to sell an intoxicated person alcohol if you're bar staff, so they've been getting mates to buy them more alcohol..
I support it. Huzzah.

it would never get enforced properly. How do u know whats drunk, some people drink 12 beers and barely show any signs od drunkeness, while others may show it after one or two. This also creates more stress for owners and stuff, combined with the pressure of underage drinking, and many other laws the club needs to obey, it's crazy. Also the strength of certain drinks, this will seem to encourage people getting stronger drinks so they don't have to go to the bar as much, hmmm, not sure if thats what the gov. wants to encourage. So that means that as an average joe at a bar, when u decide to shout your mates, you need to determine wheather they are drunk, even if u have no training in the matter at all, and if your opinion defers from the publican..bad luck.

All and all i can't agree with this tactic, seriously, they should target other activites involving drinking, like drink driving and underage drinking rather than this issue.

it's not that much of a big deal
if theyre drunk, don't get them a drink. you don't need to weight up how drunk they are etc.

the real aim of this proposed legislation is to reduce violence and anti-social behaviour associated with drinking in and around pubc and clubs- yes ppl become drunk at different stages and therefore you can only rely on the pub to decide if a person has had enough.

good step you goto the pub to relax and i dont think its such a big thing because if ur noticably drunk then uve had enough.
