bundy for me
i met a lot of people yesterday at the open day who were unsure if they wanted to go to une because it's in the country, is smaller than other unis etc. etc.
just wanted to put forward a few of the benefits that regional unis (such as une) have over urban unis (such as usyd, unsw etc.)
* smaller class sizes - several benefits
1) you get to know people in your course and become good mates with them (wether you go to the same college or not)
2) you get to know your lecturers... this can be a very handy thing :
* you can get more help with your assignments/exams etc. because they have less people to look after
* if you need an extension for an assignment (for any reason from having heaps of assignments due or to being sick) generally all you have to do is send an email or give the lecturer a phone call (try doing that at an urban uni without a medical certificate or some other form of proof)
* armidale (as well as other cities like bathurst, wagga, orange) is a uni town - that means that there is a lot of stuff catered for uni students... such as the several pubs, cheaper movies etc.. and you'll find that living in a regional town will be a lot cheaper than living in sydney (it's hard to find a pub in sydney where u can get base spirits for $3.50 - in armidale thats just standard)
now i'm not saying that non-regional uni's are shit (and i wouldn't have a foot to stand on as i've never been to one) but there are benefits of going to a regional uni
