Yeah, my advice is to NOT STUDY accounting. Its really really boring! The first few subjects teach you the basics which are semi itnersting then the 3rd year subjects just go into utter %$^&. Im talking management %$%^ such as memorising %$%^ which you will forget (i.e. %*^*) GO FINANCE... its...
hmmm nice work.
Hey out of interest... are transfers all automatically done via computer where it looks at your NRSL + places in course and just slots the ones with higher NRSL's? OR is it done manually where a UAC assessor actually looks at your subjects and your UAI and makes a decision....
bad luck man
is that economics and soical sciences at usyd?
if so.. the main round cut off was 91.55. with a gpa over 6 and a UAI over that i really cannot see why u didnt get in :S
brothers and sisters of the bos community!!!
I got in i got in i GOT IN WOOHOO!!! lolz
very surprised thought id get short done again :D:D
Celebration time !! hehehe
ohhh and good luck and I hope everyone else made their transfer and if not its not the end of the world :)
What are the mechatronic engineering like.. I mean its only a small community so I assume everyone gets to know each other... in your year... are they all crazy nerds / drunkards.. or somewhere in between...
and i assume seein a chik doin the subject wud be like finding gold on the moon...
well wen I added him to msn he recognised 'allstarrr' and sed 'wait your from bos!!!' so we got on talking about bos members and I asked do you know who Sportsgal is and he said he had met you and that your really tall. hmm strange...
Hmm I know a Dashi who does med science lolz. is her full...
lol i did hear it was a hard degree with lots of dropouts. i mean the engineering guy advised me STRONGLY against it!!! haha... but I know its all mostly logic and physics and not as much memorising.. which is a good thing for me.
Well im already commited so if god wants me to waste the next...
hmm thats not him... his name is nit... hes a curry. Hes a smart cookie .. he does mbbs / med science I think he got like 99.9 in his UAI or something (correct me if he got 100)
theres a fair few chicks i know that do med science... if u eva went up to level 5 wentworth ude be plagued with science / med science / engineering ppls.
Umm i dont know you but i know you now :d lol. hehe I partially know nit... played cricket with him on the grass outside wentworth 2nd...
keyword... i 'did' do med science... but im dropping out hehehe. The onli med sci subjects i did was chem 1102 and MBLG both of which were brutal to my health hehehe.
Nothin against med sci tho.. im sure ure lovin it. Oh btw have u met nithin? he sed he met u and sed ure a tall gal :p
There are plenty of jobs for engineers. Read the papers recently.. there was an article outlining the shortage of engineers coz all the smart cookies do science / commerce.. and all females generally stay away from engineering. There will always be a demand for engineers as techinology is always...
you can go between streams but all youll end up doing is having subjects to catch up on. Your booklet will tell you the streams that lead to certain disciplines.. and for some you have to choose your discipline after semester one eg chemical engineering.
I would really suggest you make up...
i wouldnt do med science unless you really want to become one of those researchers who have nothing better to do so they make up stupid claims like... 'too much sex causes bowel problems'...'cabbage causes cancer etc etc'
If you got your eyes on medicine then it might help but prolly not...
hellllo mechatronic engineers.. this is my life here!! knock knock :s
lol. I take it there either too busy programming some high tech gizmo, their unconscious and hibernating from a long stressful academic year... or no one cares.
Probably the last :p
haha.. you mustnt value your 'stick to heaven' that much :p
I hope I get in but I guess only time will tell aye.
Im worried coz I have no idea wat the uai cut off will be nor the nrsl cut off.
With university offers just around the corner, I just wanted to get some 'opinions' from the GPA / transfer experts.
Current Course: Engineering / Med Science at usyd
Wanted Transfer: Engineering / Commerce at usyd
Class of 2004 UAI: 93.5
GPA for year 2005: 5.31
WAM: 71.3

Hi,
Im a now second year usyd engineering student and Ive already made up my mind to tackle mechatronic engineering after being flexible for first year.
Ive had mixed opinion about the degree - the career advisor at usyd advised me strongly against it saying they would work you to death...
hahah thats funny :p
yeh but usaully when someone goes bad in something they worked their butt off for.. they dont like to admit it-- you know.. the old... 'i didnt study' excuse.. when they really dont like to admit theyre retards. :p
In seriousness tho (and this applies to first years) ...
