1. a formula for the rate of change in population of a colony of bacteria is given by: P = 3200 + 400 e^kt. If the population double after 20hrs, how long it take to triple the original population.

just be careful if you use the leading edge workbk, the answers can sometimes be ambiguous (espeically multiple choice)... there are times you may need to clarify with other textbks/ resources..

the problem is... in class she only mentioned about 'emphasis', but when we do the analysis questions... she would come up with lines of explanation in relation to those "language features"...
To students who are doing Japanese Extension:

Sorry I am having trouble in doing the last part of the question [prove true n=k+1] can anyone help please?
1) see attached img
2) 1+(1+x) + (1+x)^2 + ... + (1+x)^n = [(1+x)^(n+1) -1]/x
3) 1/(x^n)(x-1) = 1/(x-1) - 1/(x^2)(x-1) - ... - 1/(x^n)
Sorry, maybe i used wrong method or just did some silly mistakes... i just couldn't get the answer... =.=""
Use Simpson's rule with five function values to estimate the volume of the solid formed by rotating the curve y=1/(1+x^2) about the x-axis b/w x= -2 & x=2.
Answer: 34/25π
Thanks in...
At any point on the curve y=f(x) the second derivative is given by f"(x)=2x-1. The tangent at the point (0,1) on the curve has gradient 1. Find the equation of the curve.
Ans: y= (x^3)/3 - (x^2)/2 + x + 1
Thanks in advance.
