That sounds a lot more familiar. The essays i learned were no more than 1200-1300 words. There was no way id be able to write more than that in 40 mins. And im pretty sure i don't write that slow either.

Of course it was vague! it was only worth one mark! That is the question that they put in so that EVERYONE sitting the paper can at least get one mark. I doubt they'd expect quotes for only one mark.

It depends mostly on what rank you were relevant to the rest of your year. The BOS takes no notice of actual marks/bands from internal assesment... just ranks as far as i know.
