Yes, it changes depending on each year but:
2017
5 band 6s in English
7 band 6s in Maths
0 band 6s in Ancient History
2 band 6s in Business Studies
5 band 6s in Modern History
9 band 6s in SOR
1 band 6 in Extension History
Is a source analysis necessary during the introduction of an ancient history essay (Personality 25 and Period study 25)?
My teacher, who worked for HSC marking at one point maintains it is a good idea due to the fact that it makes it look better, but it is certain that it is not needed...
School is about 150th.
Modern History - 6/30
Ancient History - 1/28
Business Studies - 1/60
English Advanced - 13/60
Studies of Religion - 5/50
Mathematics (doesn't count to ATAR since it is worst 2 units)
Extension History - 2/6
What ATAR do you think I would get?
What I mean is make sure you are not being general when describing things. Eg. a business could use promotion strategies: what strategies?
Adopting this strategy may be taxing on the business: How? Would it reduce market share, profit?
Hi there,
I would really appreciate an ATAR estimate so I can goal set more effectively:
15/60 - English Advanced - 0.86
3/6 - Extension History - 0.87
Maths 2u (won't count so doesn't matter, but 25/32) - 63%
1/14 - Ancient History - 96%
8/22 - Modern History - 85%
2/63 - SOR 1 - 96%...
No business studies is very precise and specific. Nothing like English. The essay is essentially detailed points and explanation through case studies. Try to make things as concise and as less general as possible.

I just looked at your HSC results. How do you get so close to 100% in all your subjects, like don't you make mistakes? What did you do to get such a good score?
Hello,
I was wondering if someone knows extra content that wasn't studied (From their own extensive reading) and features it in their essay, does it have a significant impact on the marks they can get (mainly humanities and history subjects)?
Cheers
Hey,
Since I started in high school, the idea of having a topic sentence at the start and link at the end of a paragraph (for essays) has been drained into me for all subjects so I can respond to the question . However as time has gone on the paragraphs have gotten larger, and now in year 12...
I'm confused how to take notes properly.
My classmates seem to know more than me, and especially in subjects like history I do everything the teacher tells me to do, but I feel like I don't have enough knowledge to get full marks in my essays. I was recently wanting to get more knowledge, which...
Ok good, thankyou for clear definitions. Because if they ask in an essay for me to answer about a particular type of discover, I wouldn't know how to accurately approach it. Thanks for this
Well interestingly enough, I did exactly that. How he had good and bad memories, regrets etc, and the journey was him letting go, which he eventually does. I got 9/15 for it.
I write short stories well, but my ideas are criticised. I am told by my teacher that the idea is too basic (someone selling their home - struggling through that - this was for journey last year). I feel like since it is basic it can be adapted well. Should I adopt a more sophisticated idea...
Is it necessary to know every detail of all the historians we study in the ext his course? When are we going to be asked about their life and works? Would it be better (from what i've understood) to just write about their effect on history, their approach and opinion on history, and what...
How and where do I find a case study? I see many case studies that people have done have lots of information on them, but where do they get this all from?
I preferably want to do a real estate case study, but where can I find information on such a business?
Hi,
I currently do 2U maths, and have dropped from ext 1 maths. Last year (year 10) I did very well in maths, getting around 80-90% in exams on average. Now, this year I got 83%, 63% and now 65% in my exams. I try very hard and spend most of my time doing maths (one of the hardest and most...
How do I take notes that are enough to show that I have understanding higher than most students (HSIE subjects) for essays etc, but so that I'm not taking too many that I can remember? How do I balance it?
