Helloooo there! :hug2:
I am a 2014 HSC student with an ATAR of 97.5 and currently a first year Business/Law student.

I'm offering both online and offline tutoring to both Year 11 and 12...
I used to be extremely embarrassed about my school since I was brought up in this environment that focused heavily on being accepted into an academically recognized school more than anything. It certainly didn't help when a few individuals from private and selective school decided to gift me a...
You have no idea how much better it makes me feel about finding out there's someone out there who has also dropped another subject despite coming first/second in it. My classmates said I was crazy so I've been really doubting my decision, until now obviously! =) As for the ranking fluctuation I...
You can achieve any ATAR with any subject combination.
The important thing about these subjects are your ranking, so your results and performance overall.
We use Dixon at school and I think it's great.
I asked my Economics teacher whether or not I should get additional textbooks, especially Riley since I got his Year 11 text book from my cousin and I found it quite useful. I say 'quite' because although Riley goes into a lot of detail (which is...
In most cases, for Religion you pretty much have to be at the top for the subject to be worthwhile whereas for Physics your marks can be lower and it still won't drag you down, definitely not as much as Religion anyway.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Since Year 12 has just started I thought now would be a good time to evaluate the preliminary results and see whether or not I am on track for my goal ATAR.
Below are my rankings so far.
I am yet to receive my yearly report but I have received the results back and so I combined them with my...
I reckon it's best to Drop Religion and keep Physics.
Simply because physics has such a high scaling that you can afford to not be at the top and have it still benefit your ATAR.
Although having a back up with 12 units is a good idea it's not the best for everyone. 10 units is absolutely...
I would say drop Business Studies.
It's a subject that requires a lot of dedication because there's going to be so much content, and if you're not interested in it you'll find it hard to keep up and stay motivated all the way until HSC. Keep it if you're absolutely confident that you are able to...
I would say it's more about the skills you learnt in preliminary that's necessary for Year 12, especially so when it comes to legal's essay writing. The actual knowledge from Year 11 work is in theory yes, a foundation but I doubt you would need more than half of what you did, if not, less than...
So many things to talk about on the recent budget.
Wrong on so many levels.
For resources on anything related to govt activities from expenditures to budgets etc. i would definitely recommend the sydney morning herald.
Heaps of articles and actual facts for you to go look into :B
These two...
Truth is I took up 2U maths at the beginning of the year but dropped it after three weeks because I wasn't enjoy it at all.
It's a decision I don't regret because I switched it for Legal Studies and for this subject I'm sitting safely at the top of the class atm so all is well - for now anyway...
I'm actually more interested in Economics than Business or Commerce but who knows it might change in the future. I was surprised to find out Economics involves a great portion of maths as well but I'm doing alright right now since I was always above average in maths but I just chose not to do it...
