Keep an open mind. I haven't done it myself. But someone who has told me that it was very different to what he expected. Not in a bad way: just different.
When I moved in last year, they were meant to clean your room before you move in. But what they actually do is they clean the room when the last person moved out. Then they close the door and ignore it. So when you move in, it is 'clean' in the sense that nobody has lived in it since they've...
Re: glee
I was more or less in your situation last year. It was pretty bad last year, with offers going out a day before Oweek started.
Unilodge wasn't on my preference either, but it was what i got offered.
However, I had a fantastic time in a 5 room multishare with some awesome room mates...
live at an uncatered college. ;-)
The food really doesn't cost $100 a week. I spend on average $30 a week on food and no, i don't live on mi goreng.
imho, it really saves a lot
I lived in Unilodge in my first semester at ANU and I had a great time. To be sure, living at unilodge is not so great in terms of social activity on a large scale, ie. entire college parties etc. However, I made a great close group of friends with the people who I was living with and there were...
For the ppl moving down on 13th/14th... when did your contracts start? Just wondering as my email currently says from 15th Feb. Does that mean you wouldn't be allowed to move in beforehand?
lol...Breezy, how unclean do you mean...?
And about the kitchen stuff: surely not everyone would need to bring everything: then you'll end up with 5 lots of everything. Surely you don't need 5 pots, 5 wooden spoons, 5 spatulas, 5 x 2 pans/woks etc in one apartment?
1. They send that form via email. I just got one.
2. Probably send the record of payment and if you're still worried, phone them up.
3. Don't they send you over to the HECS guys when you enrol?
4. Doesn't seem like they've got a list. But then, that may come with the confirmation.
ps. Got...
Nah... I found the message from Fri in my junk mail after much searching. It only arrived at 8.30pm though (apparently)... I'm in a 3 share at Davey. But I'm going to try and see if I can get into a 5 share.
About scholarships: I got offered the 6.5k one... but they didn't send any...
I would much rather be considered for Fenner than unilodge. :-(
Unfortunately status remains 'unilodge'.
Does anyone know whether there is a last day they can tell you about accom? surely they won't email you a day before to finally tell you where you're going...?
I'm still offer-less too. :-( But decided to go down on PEA day (anyone else been? how was that? was it worth it?). I wanted to actually go and see the accom people face to face and see what's actually happening. But status still says Unilodge... :-( :-(
same situation as you, imallergic.
But i'm seriously considering a share house atm... is there anyone on this forum who's interested in looking for one? is the share house situation really that bad in Canberra at this time of year?
Has anyone here been in a UL 6 person share room? any...
