I agree that EE1 is a lot of work, but personally, I find it more interesting than AdvEng. It's easier too, which also puzzles me. I'm under the impression that all subjects of English have creative writing in them.

i do bring my laptop sometimes. it was compulsory in yr7-10, so i'm just used to it. it can be a real distraction too, so now i refrain from using it unless i need to

with advanced english, i find that a lot of it is response to texts, so knowing the texts well and the effect it has helps. then comes expressing your thoughts on the text (in essay etc.). with that, i guess practice helps. make sure you get your work marked so you know what to improve on..
