What sort of elective can I take? I dropped the one I originally took but now don't know what I can chose from and where. Can I chose any first year course? Surely not. What am I limited to as an IT student?

One of the reasons I think why they charge so much is because UL is mostly for cashed up internationals. I ran into one of my old teachers today and she couldn't believe how much they charge uni students for accommodation. She said that's about what she pays rent on her 4 bedroom HOUSE! Got me...

Lol. Coles pays me 13.5/hr which is the most of all the supermarket chains (bar Aldi), so they say. Oh, and no way I'd spend $100 on food per week. Don't forget to factor in tax. I usually work with $11/hr when working out how much I'll get paid a week (only roughly).

Hey. I'm trying for a transfer with Coles. I haven't been working there long enough to really qualify for one but the manager seems to like me. Plus, if I do get one, I'll finally be able to get my discount card, which will come in handy for the weekly shop.

Thanks for the info. What would the chances of transferring from IT New Media Arts to Digital Arts be. IT NMA has 2 possible courses that are similar (based on the fact that you get accepted though an interview). Digital Arts doesn't seem to have that many places though, so probably not likely...

Thanks. What are the rules when transferring? I'd imagine you probably couldn't transfer from Engineering to Actuarial Studies. And what happens with the courses in the first semester that you didn't do?

Does ANU allow mid year transfers? By that I mean transferring with departments, not from a different uni to ANU.

I'll probably be going there too. Same situation as kretzy. I hope we get a good group going. Hopefully with the accommodation shortage this year there will be more locals staying at unilodge.

I agree, it has been pretty messed up. I was given less than a day to accept the offer or it would lapse. The ANU website clearly said I had 5 days. Hoping that there are people who have to live off campus means they might be happy with one less person... here's hoping anyway.

No I definitely won't be doing that if I will lose my deposit. I will call UniLodge on Monday. It's weird, two weeks and ANU gives me something that wasn't even one of my preferences. 1 day and I get my first preference for my late round offer.
